At Bytown Community Church, faith isn’t confined to Sundays, it’s a way of life. We believe that following Jesus shapes how we love our families, serve our neighbors, and approach our work each day.
We’re a welcoming community in the heart of Ottawa. On Sundays, we gather in the Glebe, where people come together to grow in faith and live it out beyond the church walls. As we walk together, we seek to bring the love of Christ into our city in real and lasting ways—transforming hearts, building connections, and living faith every day.

Bytown exists to help adults and children experience wholeness in Jesus Christ that propels them to share and live by their faith in their families, workplaces and neighbourhoods.
Everything we do is to help people encounter Jesus. We want everyone to know that God loves them, forgives them and offers them peace.
We seek to connect diverse people back to God, one another and the world around them.
We hope that everything we do is simple, thoughtful and reproducible so that people know how to live by their faith in any setting and help others do so as well.
We live by our faith together as a diverse community, learning to depend on one another and God. We support each other, encouraging one another to take risks and practice being authentic. We also strive to partner with others: social services, programs for vulnerable people, churches and our denomination.
Bytown Community Church is a member of the Mennonite Brethren family of churches. Our full Confession of Faith can be found here.
in God as eternal Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created and sustains the universe. The eternal purpose of God the Father is to create a people who will bring glory to God forever. God alone is worthy of worship.
that God became human in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to restore the world because humans have rejected God in disobedience. Jesus taught and modeled the way of God’s kingdom. He died on the cross, making it possible for us to accept a renewed relationship with God. He rose from the dead, broke the power of sin and death, and frees us to live in obedience to God’s will.
that God the Holy Spirit invites all people to be reconciled with God and to join the global family of faith. Believers confess their faith, are baptized, and join in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and guided by the Bible, members of the church seek to live as followers of Christ and invite others to experience this new life.
Our dedicated team of pastors and church staff are here to provide spiritual guidance and support, as well as resources to help you on your faith journey.
